I Work on 8 Mile. [Feb. 1st, 2005|10:00 pm]
Sauce1977

Somewhere, in a retail store on 8 Mile, which is also known as Base Line, which is the divider between Wayne (Detroit) county and the suburban counties . . .

In the clothing section of a retail store . . .

Underneath one of the display rounds . . .

A pile of dried, runny doo-doo crusts in repose.

Origin? Uncertain . . . some mammal left it there.

Half-Life? Uncertain . . . the manager only found out about it yesterday, and the workers claim it has been there for at least a week.

I will remember my first day at my new store, and it will forever carry the title, "Doo-Day."

What I'd like to know is why the workers have known it was there for a week but did nothing about it. Ew. Leave it to us managers to deal with the poop!

"Doo-day". Hahahahaha! I love that. An auspicious beginning, no doubt.

Ah, I miss Detroit. There's always some feces hiding somewhere in Detroit.

Feces are the state bird, I think.

I wonder if someone would buy it bagged with a cheap UPC code.

If it's on sale, they'll purchase it. Pretend it was lots more expensive and then mark it down by $20-$30. See what happens. Hell, if you leave it on the counter "by accident", someone will probably even steal it.

The manager cleaned it up today.

Here's why younger folks shouldn't run anything:

One of the cashiers kept urging me to mark the entire rack of clothes as damaged.

If it's marked as damaged, it can't be sold, and it has to be destroyed and tossed.

Man . . . just because dookie was under it, that doesn't mean a thing. If the poop was on the clothes, then yes.

Sheesh.

That is disgusting. I'm sorry. It is. I can't believe you wanted to take a picture of it. That's incredibly vile. I couldn't even bear to know it was there, let alone look at it, and certainly not stare and become obsessed like you were. Geezus.

=P

I guess it's because that kind of thing is not an uncommon occurrence in NYC's subway system. There's crap everywhere. Sometimes I crave a crap-free environment.
