Hunter S. Thompson, Dead at 67. [Feb. 21st, 2005|12:20 am]
Sauce1977

I first read it on thedeadfisharmy's LiveJournal.

Hunter S. Thompson shot himself. He was found dead by his son this last evening.

My world begins to fall apart at the seams.

Hunter S. Thompson.

His Page 2 ESPN Archive.

Get it while it's still there.

His final Page 2 released on February 15, 2005.

I'm going to read it before they become unavailable.

That wasn't the surprise I was looking for before bed.

I feel more than sad at the moment.

I read a lot of his works. I cherish his writing style.

Everyone I seem to admire in public ends up in suicide.

It definitely was suicide, then? My first thought was that it was an accident.

Did you ever see him on Conan O'Brien? Oh my god, that was amazing.

It's very sad that he's gone - but frankly I'm amazed he made it as long as he did.

I did see the Conan piece where he took him to a shooting range. That was pretty good.

Maybe it was the reality of the Bush administration which put him over the edge.

He was a bit crazy, though . . . there aren't too many gun-toting liberals out there.

He was definitely crazy.

The shooting range thing was crazy. He was drinking! And belligerent! And shooting things! Not many people have that kind of character.

Swarthy is one of the descriptive terms fitting Hunter S. Thompson.

One of my friends once watched him chase Jimmy Buffett around with a steak knife at Margaritaville. That may or may not have actually happened, but bless you, Hunter S. Thompson (and please, waste no time in f*cking with the afterlife).
