Attention: Ching Chang Chong League - Franchise Owners.

ESPN's Fantasy Football is back for the 2006 season, and I want to make some decisions by July 1st, 2006.

If you played in the Ching Chang Chong Fantasy Football Leagues in 2005, please tell me about your experience, in hindsight.

Turn off the Beethoven, if necessary.

Give me everything you can communicate. I want to know what you loved, what you didn't love, anything that you absolutely hated, what you'd like to see that wasn't there, what you liked exactly as it happened . . .

This will help me organize the leagues for continuation for the 2nd season of CCC Action.

Thanks for the vote of wantings-in.

I'm sure that by the end of this process, we'll have openings.

It's an advanced league . . . structure of points earned by both offense and defensive individual players, plus a somewhat-high-scoring system.

Awesome. I like the individual player aspect, as opposed to the "choose a team's defensive line"-type of play.

We also have a team defense, but it doesn't rank almighty in comparison to that of the linebacker and/or safety.

The right LBs can rack up mad points by making tackles.

Bonus points if freaky shit happens on offense and defense.

WRs/TEs are somewhat crucial to hold as a crop . . . from them, it's completely hit or miss. The QBs and RBs are pretty important on offense, in that order, ahead of the WRs, but the right WR against the right opponent can really do damage.

As long as the horrors from the 05 draft weekend do not happen again, or at least in remote comparison, then it'll be fantastic, especially the play.

ESPN reneged on the ability to do a live draft with their free leagues. Then, they went back and kept their end of the deal in the next week, but not before my leagues imploded. I deleted them in a loss for what to do amid the chaos and bickering. When they allowed free leagues to schedule live drafts again during the next week, I had to recreate the leagues, schedule a new time . . . of which, they were inconvenient times left during the first week of play . . . and hope to hell that people would get through the chaos and come play.

They did . . . but then, the servers on ESPN . . . they took a gigantic shit on that draft weekend . . . too much traffic. That really sealed the deal for many people on a thumbs-down for ESPN.

I have to be very careful if I use them this year. I didn't want to do it, but that's why I'm opening this up again . . . maybe someone has a good idea (even a new place to play, different company) that would work for my leagues.

There's nothing I can do about deserters of shitty teams. I mean, if it's absolutely necessary, I can annex a team and run it as if it has an interested owner, but that's in extreme cases.

Also, we're not doing the leagues on AOL for any reason.

I had joined a league of a former friend on AOL . . . fantastic design, very intricate league controls . . . slow as hell. They had a worse time of it than ESPN did. I bailed from that league . . . the owner of the league was forced to do a multi-hour 'live' draft in which he had to manually input every player selected on every team. That requires the attention of everyone present . . . those not present get stuck with whoever is selected by the commish for them. I almost had to do that with ESPN's, up until they came to their senses the next week.

I don't do autodraft. Some people love it, but I need to hand-pick every player on my team. Autodrafts don't balance crops well . . too many QBs, too many WRs, et cetera . . . since few people ever want to trade, in my experience, it makes for necessity to hand-pick.

In other words, you have a commissioner in me who has already seen a lot of horrors, so as long as you're patient, I can probably manage my way through most snafus.

I'm definitely cool with whatever decisions you make. You were a fine NBA Fantasy League manager, so ... cool.

Rallying Cries.

You had a rough year last year, to make the understatement of all time.

I wasn't having a pleasant year, either.

It's a moment for understatements, lol.

Hell, you even won that one league . . . good stuff, considering that the 2nd go will feature your experience from previous play as a slight advantage.
