Submitted for your approval . . .

Someone edited and condensed Planet of the Apes into the style of an episode on "The Twilight Zone."

Part 1 of 3

Part 2 of 3

Part 3 of 3

Taylor (Charlton Heston), Landon (Robert Gunner), and Dodge (Jeff Burton) are astronauts who had been in suspended animation until their ship crashed on a planet. They awake to the year A.D. 3978. They have no clue where they are, but they realize that they're stranded. They realize after a short while that they are not alone.

This is a pretty neat edit of the science fiction classic, but it has one flaw . . . Dodge's fate is not addressed.

didn't Serling actually write the original script or have something to do with it?

Yes. It was a novel that Serling adapted into a screenplay. The ending of that movie is Serling's idea. It's different in the book on a few details.

i read the Pierre Boulle book years ago and recall it being quite a different affair.
