These tales and songs were brought to Mackinac by the voyageurs in their long canoes during the height of the French fur trade. They deal with ghosts, goblins, and other creatures of folklore.
I enjoy the talk of les feu follet.
Some know them as Will-o-the-Wisps.
They are lights that appear in the night along trails.
They are sometimes good, and they are sometimes evil.
