Hollywood is a "what can we make from this" first-thought bunch.
After an original makes a ton of money, the executives generally will greenlight quite easily, it seems.http://www.livejournal.com/users/sauce1977rm/58979.html
You can save that for after the film . . . it has spoilers.
Merely . . . keep an eye out for all of the goofy mistakes made in it, if you go see it.
There are some rather easily-identified goofs.
What I liked about the original Dawn
was the slow-paced style to it . . . the frolic in the mall, the strange assault of the bikers . . . those things were neat, and this has a rather different story to tell . . . but not really.
Both versions, after all, take place mostly in a mall.
I will say that the effort put into the zombie-getups and the tension of the film were honed to sharp knives. They cut well.
The rest was butter-sharpness.
