Linda's Cafe Xmas. [Dec. 30th, 2004|01:45 am]

There's this local diner near my house on 9 Mile and Harper by the name of Linda's Cafe.

This was the place where the last batch of Christmas took place.

Heidi and I met up with my dad around 10 PM yesterday at Linda's. My dad is this skinny man who kind of looks like me. He rolled in a little late because he expected a call from me, only to find his cat had disconnected the phone. I hugged him. I had not had the chance to hang out with my pops in almost a year.

We exchanged gifts, and then we ordered food. Dad chose liver and onions, Heidi had breakfasty foods with hash browns, and I picked the fish and chips.

Dad offered me the keys to successful and harmonious living. He discussed many values of morals, ethics, and shortcuts to enlighten me upon the great path of inner harmony. He mentioned that I took the information much better than his sponsee, who is generally not in the right place in his mind and heart at the moment. When Dad asked me if I knew who the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were, I responded, "Sure, I know them. There's Larry, Moe, Curly, and Shemp. Shemp is the unloved one."

If I can't entertain, then it just doesn't feel right.

Dad cautioned me on resentments. I hold a few from time to time, but I know I'm not perfect.

It was a swell end to the extended holiday. I even celebrated Boxing Day. How many Americans do you know who even know when that day is?

Actually, we were the opposite of that . . .

We stayed at a house in Windsor, and Heidi's pops arranged a home-cooked meal while we watched six different NFL games between all of the affiliates they carry on the Canadian side.
