My Mind Remains an Open Highway. [May. 21st, 2005|06:00 pm]

This is how the world works.

All energy flows according to the whims of the Great Magnet.

Only for those with true grit.

What a fool I'd be to defy it.

The opening to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is one of my favorites.

I've never seen it, but I know I have to. I love the imagery for "Raising Arizona", it's very similar.

The desert scenes are similar, but it quickly turns into a stream of conscious which defies sober thought.

I need to see it, but the Criterion DVD is expensive as hell, I think.

I just found a Criterion The Life Aquatic in Costco for under 20 bucks.

It really depends on where you shop.

Some music-first stores really charge a huge premium on the films.

Amazon currently has a decent price for it.

Holy shit, 20 bucks for "Life Aquatic"? I need to pick that up.

See, 23 bucks though, same price from Amazon at Best Buy, so, either way.

WHAT ARE THESE GODAMMN ANIMALS???!!???

Yes, starting with the car ride was risky, but alas the only real way to open the film which defies the need for another 'drug movie' (hate that term) to ever be made again heh.

Listen to what Hunter says about Toby Mcguire, I almost fell over.
"Hunter he was Spiderman."
"Makes sense."

Oh man, the HST commentary is excellent.

I've been waiting to do tons of screen captures from the film.
