I'm thinking that Detroit and Miami are going to beat up on each other for a while.
Hopefully the Suns can give the Spurs a little bit of a challenge.
Miami played defense, and I knew that it wouldn't be easy.
I figured the Pistons would lose this game. I hoped they would win . . . Wade made certain (along with Mourning's amazing D under the basket) that it wouldn't go 2-0 to Detroit.
Phoenix should be okay, just as long as they don't let San Antonio's crowd get to them. They feed off high energy, and when that shrivels, they go to shit.
They're scoring way too many points at this point not to put up a fight in Game 3.
If they lose by more than 20 in game 3, then Phoenix most likely will go down in 4.
I literally have heard NOTHING about the Heat/Pistons game until now, I kid you not.
You mean you just found out about the outcome, or no one's reporting on it on TV?
Nothing about it on ESPN here in NY. Which is weird. I was playing "Halo 2" with a couple guys from Michigan and they didn't even know the score.
ESPN grows more and more biased with every year of coverage.
TNT's been doing a hell of a good job with giving love to both sides. I heard them call a great game on TV tonight . . . I wish ESPN would spend more time with balance of announcers.
My main beef remains Bill Walton. He rarely provides any useful commentary, and Detroit fans are not the only ones tired of him. Phoenix fans seem to have had enough . . .
Barkley looks like a great commentator in comparison to Walton.
We have a guy here in NY named Ian Eagle (my fave), he does the Nets games, I believe. Plus we have Marv Albert calling the Knicks.
Marv Albert's pretty good.
I'm biased when I say that I love Dick Vitale.
Barkley goes crazy with his opinions, but he tends to back them up with logic more often than not.
People who hate on Al Michaels don't figure into my realm of logic. He's the one guy who usually calls a great game. He does go biased, but very very very rarely over the course of his career . . . and if he does, it's usually because the other team deserves it (USSR).
I have always disliked Vitale, even though he's a Devil Rays season ticket holder. I just can't stand his brand of broadcasting.
It is rather energetic, yet silly-stupid.
I'm a tad biased because he has major Detroit ties. U of D (now UDM) and the Pistons were former teams that he coached.
Oh, see, I didn't know he coached. That's pretty cool.
That was a loooong time ago, before he rode the college "Baby" gig to iconic pedestal.
I wouldn't be surprised if he had a few jabs for Detroit after Game 2. They looked pretty slow on D, especially in the last few minutes of the game.
I saw that. On ESPN they did a tiny 30-second recap. Because the D-Backs game is more important, apparently.
People are blind. It never fails.
ok. Im butting in.
Marv albert is a good announcer, but he is ANNOYING. I hate it when he says YES! like a dope.
and the only good thing about dick vitale is the monday segment on mike and mike on ESPNradio. Thats it. He is definatly not AWESOME BABY! He is one of the most annoying announcers in sports.
And i like bill walton.:P
Don't worry, we all have different tastes.
I could watch a Miami/Phoenix series.
I could watch a Miami/San Antonio series.
I could watch a Detroit/Phoenix series.
I could watch a Detroit/San Antonio series.
It's all good to me.
I'd be lying, however, if I paid a little less attention if Detroit wasn't representing the East.
Then again, Shaq and Wade provide enough entertainment (and good play) to make up for obvious shitheads like Laettner.
Christ, I just don't like Laettner.
Wanna know hell?
I own a T-Wolves Laettner jersey.
I figured (when younger) that he was going to be something special.
I even hoped that when he came to Detroit, he'd turn into a powerful force.
He has failed me at every turn.
If Laettner cheap-shots his way to the Finals and a 2005 NBA ring, then that will hurt a little more than Phoenix taking the Finals with no defense to speak.
Miami gave an effort which they can only give about one more time.
Detroit played like shit, could not find the basket and still
almost won (until about the last 1:00).
it will be Miami's only win.
I have this feeling that no matter the outcome, people are going to talk about Wade far more than they will talk about Shaq next year.
Wade's game was a masterpiece.
Miami's D happens to flicker on and off like Detroit's O.
I have this feeling that if it is Detroit/San Antonio, the Spurs would have less faltering on O.
we'll see what happens.
i think the Spurs have a better team,
but they're pretty even.
That's what I'm sayin' . . . I think the Spurs have a better offense, which makes them a slightly better team (consideration of both Ds being equal).
Detroit would probably be an underdog in that series.
I'm not sure if Miami can run through two brick walls to a ring.
I'm sure that if it was Miami/Phoenix, that Miami would win.
