Muuahahahah.

On the listing on IMDB, they mention a number of alternate versions of the film, and by alternate, I do not mean the Herzog version.

Apparently, there is a completely-restored "scholarly" version that exists, but it is not available for the general public.

I would very much like to see it released as part of the Criterion Collection.

Re: Muuahahahah.

I miss my English classes at my university.

That environment was enough for me to recognize my strong creative instinct.

However, it does help to have a background in making money, despite being broke at 28. ;D

Re: Muuahahahah.

You would hope so, and so would I.

Hopefully, if there's something that waits for all of us after we pass from this life, then that something would be better than all of this.

Salem's Lot Vampire.

Graf's cousin, Kurt.

Despite the fact that it is a mediocre mini-series, I really enjoyed it as a kid, and I found this vampire to be quite freaky. It was part of the inspiration to seek out Nosferatu.

Pulp or no pulp, King is king.

As a kid, I went straight for King. I passed on I think his name was V.C. Andrews. My deceased aunt had a powerful love for King books, and she piqued my interest in King's work and inspired me to go out and get a hold of my own copies of his novels.

I think I spent most of a summer around 7th-8th grade, reading The Stand: Uncut.

I have to try to muster the energy to get through that series. I read maybe one of the books, but for whatever reason, I never picked up on the Towers.

Re: Salem's Lot Vampire.

i forgot that scene from the original!

I remember the miniseries sucking really bad in terms of it feeling dated (even when i was a kid) i remember the main character had this lame courderoy jacket with elbow patches. And the music felt like television show music.

But at the same time, it had its moments of being really well done...so much better than the lame ass remake last year!!

The scene with the boy floating at the window used to scare the hell out of me!

Re: Salem's Lot Vampire.

Yeah, some of the stuff in the original mini-series was fantastic, while there were periods of ho-hummity.

I like that freaky stuff, especially when it's smattered in such small quantities.
