Re: If it's this movie, then yes.

did you see the remake of Salem's Lot with Rutger Houer? he plays Barlow but its more like if your dad was a master vampire and slept in the crawlspace under a bed and breakfast. Not as scary as blue-in-the-face basement full of ghouls Barlow. He gets punked out in the last scene.

Also, the ending to the remake makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE! they flash forward to a hospital scene? how did they get in the hospital? what the hell! one minute they are burning down th etown, next minute its months later and Rob Lowe is in a hospital bed. They never explain what happened to him. then the bad guy shows up too. it was Soooooo so STUPID! i felt ripped off. I wanted it to be good.

Shadow of the Vampire is in my netflix que this week actually, funny coincidence. Don't spoil it (i didnt know he was a rewal vampire in the movie!) how funny!

Max Schrek is also the villian from Batman returns.

Yeah, they put up Dafoe as Schreck who was Orlok, in which the premise is . . . what if Schreck was a real vampire?

Malkovich is also in that one. He's always good.

I didn't see the remake of "Salem's Lot" because I am under the direct suspicion that Stephen King without the alcohol, cocaine, and other substances cannot write with the same power. Nor does he make any good decisions with regard to his translated works. The films and series from his books have been in steady decline since he got clean.
