HAVE A GHOUL TIME.
I heart "Salem's Lot", and the new one's not bad, either.
The design in the original to use the look of Orlok in the Nosferatu silent film was a stroke of magic. It turned out so well.
Unfortunately, I'd have liked to see better acting all around.
I think Tobe Hooper was awesome to use the Nosferatu look. How many other directors would have done that? Probably none.
Hooper's an interesting cat.
Supposedly he's very self-efacing, funny, and sweet. According to interviews and shit, anyway.
i got mad at my girlfriend when we watched this a few weeks ago, because i was flipping out how sweet it was during this exact scene when he crashes thru the window and is just a slithering black robbed mass on th efloor...then...bam he stands up all super powerful and scary.
and she says "this is stupid...he looks so fake...like a big smurf"
and i got really mad because i really liked it and she kept slamming on it.
girlfriends never appreciate scary things.
side note : ruetger hower plays the vampire in the new one as well as the vampire in the Buffy the vampire Slayer Movie, where he is pretty much a rediculous joke. come to think of it, donald suther;land was in both those movis too...they must be palls.
also, Joss Whedon rules.
You know, Heidi wrinkles her nose at scary movies.
I think it's because she gets uncomfortable watching them, but that's the point.
This one is cheesy to me though.
I know it's cheesy.
However, if I were to say, want to watch a movie like, Friday the 13th, you might go "Oh Noes!"
You know, you can cling to me in movie theatres. When my back gets better, you can sit with me on the couch and also cling, for safety purposes. ;D
