Gus Van Sant's Last Days (2005) [Feb. 15th, 2006|01:00 am]

[In the Moment |NO RULES, MAN!]

So, I watched this film tonight on a whim.

The first thing I notice about a Gus Van Sant film . . . pretty pictures and sounds.

Story? Hmmm, that's a different, uh, story.

He likes to fuck with time.

I spent about two minutes in the kitchen, laughing.

In between my fits of laughter, in my best hippie voice, in mimic of Lukas Haas, I paraphrased his communication of the Van Sant Film Experience, saying over and over, "There are no rules, man."

For anyone familiar with the story surrounding the last days of Kurt Cobain, this film made a minor bit of sense.

For a general audience?

"There are no rules, man!"

Oooo-weee-oooo, Lukas Haas looked just like Buddy Holly.

Oh-oh, and Michael Pitt looked like Mary Tyler Moore.

I don't care what they say about Last Days, anyway.

I don't care about that.

Deleted Scene 38 X. More interesting than the film.

Oh, and if you read this, it's the day after Valentine's Day.

Congratulations. You made it.

I couldn't imagine anyone understanding it, if they weren't familiar with the mystery surrounding the events.
