Congratulations to the Detroit Tigers.

You played better baseball than anyone could have predicted. Only the insane would have had you pegged for the 2006 World Series.

This was a great story from start to finish. Everything past .500 ball in the regular season was the bonus round.

You have a talented young pitching staff. Your club has many young players, and most of them can only get better. The future is bright.

Your organization provided a lifetime of entertainment for my grandfather. He enjoyed you guys right up until his end.

I carried him through the final innings. I cannot thank you enough for making it pretty exciting to watch.

You're good guys. I wish you the best.

I had more words that added detail to comparison, but yes, I absolutely see the similarity of the last SB result with the MLB result. I didn't follow hockey, but weren't there more than one NHL clubs that went deep in the series . . . with an unimpressive record?

The only one that really had any excitement to it this year . . . NBA playoffs. Detroit was the wins leader, but their collapse was quantifiable and a non-dramatic issue. The Heat and Mavs were respectable teams, and the Heat more than earned their championship.

The Rogers situation is something that reminded me why I don't watch the MLB. I think the recent bargaining agreement with Selig also puts off the whole drug testing situation even further into the future, so between juicers and a wealth of poor pitching staffs, this is going to be a shred of a sport for some time.

Tigers were one of the few teams that resembled, to me, what MLB was like before 1994.

The Oilers made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, but they lost to the favored Hurricanes.

That was almost a trifecta.
