I read through that one just now.

Another factoid I learned from Smoking Gun was that K. Cobain was wearing a Half Japanese t-shirt at the time of his One-Star'd demise.

To me, cool usually ends up being decided by kids, but it's more often a whatever that might be affordable to families. The obvious buck of that trend is those Nike Airs from the 1980s. That was far from affordable, all that jazz.

But I see how DeeDee or whoever remarked on how the Japanese loved tech-laden gear, and then I notice that each demographic thinks something else is cool, and I think in this day and age, in the post-target-market segmenting that has happened, every lil' faction has its own cool.

If one thinks about it, when kids were listening to the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, their parents were decidedly 'uncool,' but the rub is that the parents felt likewise. They had their Lawrence Welk and Frank Sinatra and that was that.

You can't pay me to listen to some of this Gen Y shit.

Kids drive the market.

I'd like to get it back to an era where children are those things you never see or hear.
