Harris Interactive Poll: Sports Popularity Over the Years. [Mar. 29th, 2008|12:00 pm]

Apparently, NFL leads every sport for American interest.

Then MLB, then NCAA football, then NASCAR.

NHL/NBA . . . a lot of people don't watch.

That's the size of Metro Los Angeles.

I knew the NBA was gonna tank in interest after Donaghy hit the fan. That was affecting outcome of games, it's serious business despite whatever the little bastard behind the NBA curtain keeps bellowing otherwise.

Hockey could be so much much muuuuuch better, if the rules and the schedule and almost everything else about it currently wasn't a poor quality.

You know, I still haven't seen Crosby play.

The population of Canada is 30 million(ish), I was guessing around 40% of them actively follow and watch hockey.

I dunno much about hockey... I watch the ECHL's Salmon Kings here in town (only team in the ECHL in Canada, oddly enough... and not as odd as the East Coast Hockey League having a prescence on the west coast), and I enjoy it. It's the bottom on the pro-hockey pile (the teams salary cap is 11 grand a week), and for some guys this is as good as it'll get, and other's they might have one last chance to shine and get up to the AHL and NHL.

Whats wrong with the rules and schedules of hockey?

So as for Sidney Crosby... I wouldn't know him from a hole in the ground.
