Hockeytown in name only. Philly is definitely the best non-Minnesota hockey market in the States.

Pffft. I'll get that from every city, but this place never stops with the hockey. They have big ice rinks all over the area. No way.

Looking around, it would seem Philly and Detroit are on a par for support. What it seems to me, as a casual observer, is that the Wings are unusual in having a reasonably large Canadian support base for a US team. I'm not sure any of the other US teams has that (maybe Buffalo?). I certainly know several die hard Red Wings fans out here in BC (most of whom pre-date the Canucks joining the NHL, mind).
