Media Bias: 2012 World Series. [Oct. 29th, 2012|05:35 pm]
[Tags|, , , , ]
[Current Location |Detroit, MI, USA]

Much has been made about the triumphant 2012 San Francisco Giants MLB championship, especially of their 'amazing' fans.

Except, they're not.

76 fires were set, 35 arrests were made, and one metro transit bus was burned following the Giants Series win.

However, go back to 1984, when the Tigers won their last World Series. In the wee hours following the Tigers win, a single flabby Detroiter named "Bubba" held a pennant in front of a burning cop car. He became the symbol of everything that is wrong with Detroit, and America.

Stay biased, shitty media. Stay biased.

I personally don't care that much if people get rambunctious after a big event, so long as the damage isn't permanent (fires, overturning vehicles) and more of the fixable kind (temporary paint, et cetera). Definitely, I could care less about rowdy behavior, so long as nobody is directly messing with me.

But I do care greatly when media gets caught up in a convenient story and ignores consistency. I saw a couple of people comment that Detroit would consider San Francisco's outbursts "amateur hour." Screw that.
