The Passion of the Christ Worked for Me. [Feb. 26th, 2004|11:32 am]

You don't have to give two shits about Jesus to enjoy this film.

You do, however, have to possess your stainless-steel stomach, as the severe beatings and the images are quite graphic.

Morons be the parents who take the children to see Jesus be tortured and killed.

Quite literally, this is one of the most riveting films I've watched.

The Passion of the Christ. Exactly that it was.

Never mind the crazy sentiments of Mel Gibson's dad. Go see the film.

Jesus and Gibson were all over the TV last night. I heard Roger Ebert say it was a good film and would only comment on its cinematic value. Everyone else had comments on the amount of violence.

Exposed ribs on Jesus. That's about one tiny bit of the description of violence given to that man on the screen.

As for Mel Gibson, he didn't mess around with this film. He got down to the spikes on this one.

Yeah, I stopped munching on the popcorn when they started getting down to the sharp spikes.

Goin' this week-end. XD

Yeah, I heard it was pretty gory. I bet that's exactly what it was like, though.

Well, in the movie, they spared no gentle treatment on him once they had him.

I didn't know about this one until around the winter Xmas holiday season. Then, after hearing all the rumors and other talk over these weeks, my interest spiked a bit.

i think it's kind of a shame that he felt he had to make it so graphic.

Yeah, I think he was going for 'historical accuracy.'

Outside of that, the movie is a powerful 2 hours of the account.

Certainly, he spiked it with plenty of graphic imagery.

Re: *throws MORE peanuts!*

Cool.

It's at least worth a DVD rental for the most leary.

For those who love great films, this one's something I'd see again.

Thanks! Its good to hear a review on the film. I am far from being a Christian but feel the need to see it. I love the guy who plays Jesus after I saw him in a thin red line.

Oh my, he was really good as Jesus.

Monica Bellucci, from the Matrix ditties, she was Mary Magdalen.

It's not a preachy movie either. He stuck with the account of the final moments of Jesus, and he left blame of the situation out of it.

Clever flashbacks, a strange but working presence of Satan, which was interesting too.

It sure spiked up to the top event of the day yesterday for me.
