Vanilla Sky . . . I Live . . . for . . . [Mar. 17th, 2004|01:00 am]

[Special Music |Haunting DVD Menu Music for Vanilla Sky]

I live for films like Vanilla Sky.

Jacob's Ladder, AI, What Dreams May Come, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Requiem for a Dream, A Clockwork Orange, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, many more that are on the horizon of my memory, they move me internally, like all great films do.

I forgot about my laundry with Vanilla Sky.

That's a pretty good film, one capable of such feats.

Marcus, you are eerily similar to me.

I skipped Vanilla Sky because of the critically-panned reviews. Time and money were short like they were now, and I was lookin' for a winner among the many winners that year.

I didn't even rent this one . . . it was part of my roomie's collection.

Completely shocked, I was, at the wonderful quality.

It obviously is not original, as the Spanish film was the inspiration for it. However, that being put aside (I didn't see the Spanish version yet), it's visually stunning, has that Fight Club/Fear and Loathing little detail replay value, and I'm sure the commentary reveals more intricacies.

When one watches films of people, and when one uses media devices such as the internet, one can find a wealth of community in like-minded individuals.

When I find intelligence, that is my community.
