Dirty Pretty Things (2002) [Jul. 6th, 2004|02:00 am]

Ah, Tatou, je vous adore en ce film. Je suis polarisé avec mon sang français.

Outside of Audrey Tatou, I enjoyed the other characters. Sergi López as Sneaky, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Okwe, Sophie Okonedo as Juliette, Benedict Wong as Guo Yi, and Zlatko Buric as Ivan, I enjoyed them . . . every one.

Okwe's a Nigerian doctor trapped for the time being in London as an illegal immigrant . . . an exile from his country. He discovers some . . . well, dirty and pretty things to the underworld of the United Kingdom.

Okwe takes a couch at Senay's house, played by Tatou. They work at the hotel where Sneaky runs some rather sordid business under the radar.

It's a tasteful thriller . . . little gore, but I liked that from this film.

That guy's expression never fucking changes throughout the whole movie. He'd use the same for confusion, happy, sad, contemplating, love, despair, I mean come on! I liked the movie though. But like, why did she need a passport to go to America if she can get one from her own country? Is it because she coudn't leave England without one?

Senor Juan was great. I think the other characters bothered me because they were characatures and they brought nothing new.

Well, Okwe was supposed to play the very quiet, dry-humor Nigerian.

The Muslim Techno scene after she had to go down on the guy from the sweatshop . . . I never knew there was Muslim Techno.

Me and Matt went to see this in the theaters in september of 2003. I liked it. I have been meaning to own it. But I have also been meaning to buy the station agent and The cooler too.
My advice don't bother seeing Demon Lover. It SUCKED.

Demon Lover?

It's stored in the sub-conscious with a negative charge. Got it.

Man, The Cooler was fun. I really dug that film . . . I like gambling films . . . I'm also a little biased on those.
